Meet Dr. Bridget Monaghan
“I thought everyone had a chiropractor.”
Dr. Bridget was raised in a farming community in Iowa. Her family was very conservative when it came to health care and interventions. She and her siblings were accustomed to seeing a chiropractor more often than medical doctor for their healthcare needs. Each of her family members continue to see a chiropractor thanks to her parents influence.
Dr. Bridget has lived globally and found that there is no other place she’d rather meet the world’s needs with her talents. She feels at home in Lincoln Park and is passionate about making you feel at home.
Teaching Leads to Healing
Dr. Bridget majored in biology and earned her Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree from Loras College and a Master Degree in Education (M.Ed.) from the University of Notre Dame. She spent five years teaching biology to middle school and high school students. Dr. Bridget is a very service-oriented person, and she shared her talents with students throughout the U.S. and abroad in Santiago, Chile.
Intuitively, Dr. Bridget knew she was meant to use her leadership skills in healthcare, and after much consideration, decided to pursue a career in chiropractic. She took a leap of faith and discovered that chiropractic trumped all of her fears. This confirmed to her that she was meant to be a chiropractor.
Building Her Chiropractic Career
After living throughout the country, Dr. Bridget knew she wanted to attend school on the West Coast. She attended Life Chiropractic College West outside San Francisco earning a Doctorate of Chiropractic (D.C) degree. Dr. Bridget couldn’t be happier with her experience.
While pursuing her studies at Life Chiropractic College, Dr. Bridget was honored for her efforts in her clinical experience. She was inspired to live there, as the people are accustomed to chiropractic care and other means support healing and healthy living.
Dr. Bridget was compelled to bring some of the Bay Area experience to her patients in the Lincoln Park area. Her mission is to empower others to live the lives they want by getting well and staying well. She enjoys sharing the healing power of chiropractic with everyone.
A Humanitarian at Heart
Dr. Bridget’s charitable efforts include volunteering at S.O.M.E. (So Others Might Eat) center for homelessness in Washington, D.C. She was also an Americorps volunteer while in college. Dr. Bridget taught for two years as part of a service learning program in Plaquemine, Louisiana and for one year in Santiago, Chile.
She has also participated in Chiro Mission’s humanitarian efforts taking several service trips to the Dominican Republic. There she joined a team of chiropractors and volunteers who provided free chiropractic care to villagers. Also, a regular volunteer at Chiros Cares, Dr. Bridget brings the healing power of chiropractic to the homeless population of Chicago.
